10 Hardest Jobs In The World

Here are fifteen jobs that thousands of Americans work that have crappy hours for even crappier pay.

1. Certified Nursing Assistant:

CNA’s go through one year of nursing school, and then they’re sent out to the local hospitals, the nursing homes, and/or if they’re really lucky, a local doctor’s office. If you choose to do this, there WILL be quite a few bedpans in your future. Oh, and did we forget to mention the average pay? A sweet $8.50 an hour starting off.

2. Server:

Filling drinks and taking orders doesn’t exactly pay well. Counting the $2.13 an hour that the restaurant pays them: $9.15 an hour on average. But, they aren’t even the lowliest paid workers in the restaurant business.

3. Dishwasher:

Dishwasher’s don’t just wash dishes, they dump trash, clean the parking lot, normally get out later than the other members of the restaurant, and they definitely leave soaking wet every night. The hours are late, and the pay is low at on average, $8.75 an hour.

4. Fast Food Worker:

This should come as a surprise to no one that fast food workers don’t make a lot of money. Starting off at minimum wage, these jobs typically offer very little incentive for the employees to improve.

5. Emergency Medical Technician:

EMT’s work between fifty and sixty hours a week, and while they might be trained to save your life, they aren’t exactly paid for it. The bottom ten percent earn less than $9 an hour.

6. Pharmacy Technician:

Pharmacy Tech’s make around $8 an hour to sort through those pills on a daily basis. What’s insane is that this job requires a special certificate that you have to attend a technical college or trade school to get!

7. Life Guard:

Yep, the job sounds pretty glamorous. Spend all day at the beach, get a free tan, and get paid! The first two sound right, but the third…not so much. Lifeguards make minimum wage. Keep that in mind next time you harass them for being lazy.

8. Amusement Ride Operator:

You probably weren’t surprised that this job doesn’t pay much, but ride operators do more than just hit a button; they make sure that the ride is running correctly and make sure your kids are strapped in safely and don’t go flying out of the teacup ride! $8 seems a little low for this.

9. Nanny:

Mary Poppins’ time must’ve come and gone. Changing diapers, maintaining schedules, making sure the kids are fed and taking their medicine can take up a whole day. Nannies get paid on average $9.15 for their troubles.

10. Preschool Teacher:

Dealing with kids just doesn’t pay all around if you’re working in the public school system. Preschool teachers make the least out of all teachers, and they have to have a four year degree! All of this for a paltry $10.11 per hour on average.
