Rachel Hendry, 17, dropped out of school after falling pregnant with her first child |
Rachel Hendry from Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, is due to give birth to her first child, a daughter, next month.
The teenager says she deliberately fell pregnant by her boyfriend, 21-year-old Chris Haynes, two months in to their relationship.
Despite her parents' concerns, Rachel is adamant that she and unemployed Chris will make good parents.
'We really wanted to have a child. There is nothing stopping us,' she told producers of the Channel 5 series Baby Faced Mums.
'I’m looking for her to be my best friend.'

She fell pregnant in autumn, dropping out of school where she was preparing to sit Highers.
Chris, who did not work at the time, said he was eager to land a job after learning he was to become a father.
While the soon-to-be parents are confident about the future, Rachel's family are more apprehensive.
'It was my fear she would get pregnant at any early age,' her mother, Carol, said, according to The Daily Star.
Rejecting claims she may not be able to properly look after the baby, the schoolgirl added: 'I can make soup – and curry.'
In her blog where she describes herself as a 'mummy-to-be' the 17-year-old defended premarital sex, sharing an article in which a young virgin recounts saving herself for marriage only to be left disappointed on her wedding night.
Rachel is one of a handful of young mothers to appear in the documentary series.
