Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ Returns to No.1

Ed Sheeran’s ‘x’ album, which was released over a year ago, is back at No. 1 in the U.K. midweek chart.
With sales in excess of 2 million in the U.K., Ed has once again secured the midweek peak position in the Official Albums Chart.

It’s not surprising considering that ‘x’ is the 5th best-selling album of the decade so far, closely following records from Adele, Take That, Michael Buble and Emeli Sande.

If the album maintains it’s No. 1 position in the Official Albums Chart, it will go down in history as the first to claim the top spot during the charts brand new Friday slot.

Meanwhile, hip-hop duo Krept & Konan are on track to score this week’s highest new entry with their debut album ‘The Long Way Home’, which has made an appearance at No. 2. They previously entered the Top 20 with their 2013 mixtape ‘Young Kingz’ and last week made their Official Singles Chart debut with Top 10 track ‘Freak Of The Week’ ft. Jeremih.

Following an appearance at Glastonbury, Lionel Richie & The Commodores’ ‘The Definitive Collective’ has slipped down two places to sit at No. 3 midweek.

James Bay’s ‘Chaos And The Calm’ is currently at No. 4 and Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ completes the Top 5.

Following the release of documentary film ‘Amy’, Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’ is set to re-enter the Top 40 this week.

‘Amy’ has broken U.K. box office records after it enjoyed the biggest ever opening weekend for a British documentary film. It has also been heralded the second biggest documentary film opening worldwide.

Meanwhile over on the Official Singles Chart David Zowie is currently in No. 1 position with catchy track ‘House Every Weekend’.

Followed by Years & Years’ song ‘Shine’ at No. 2, Fifth Harmony’s ‘Worth It’ at No. 3 and ‘Are You With Me’ by Lost Frequencies at No. 4.

The Top 5 singles in the midweek chart are completed by Tinie Tempah’s ‘Not Letting Go’ ft. Jess Glynne.
