Taylor Swift And Nicki Minaj Embroiled In Twitter Row After Rapper Misses Out On MTV VMAs Nomination

Taylor vs Nicki
Pop star Taylor Swift has hit back at Nicki Minaj after the rapper missed out on the Video of The Year nomination at next month's MTV Video Music Awards.
A disappointed Nicki wrote on Twitter: "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year."

Shortly after Taylor, who is up for Video of The Year, Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Best Collaboration, replied: "@NickiMinaj I've done nothing but love and support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..."

Nicki then said: "Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. "But you should speak on this @taylorswift13."

Earlier on Nicki had posted a string of messages blasting MTV for not recognising her track with Beyonce or nominating Anaconda for Video of The Year.

She later retweeted a fan who said: "It's a real shame that everyone is missing the point Nic is trying to make."

The 32-year-old added: "They're not missing the point, they're just attempting to overshadow the point. Oldest trick in the book."

Nicki scored three nominations - Best Hip Hop Video for Anaconda, Best Collaboration for Bang Bang and Best Female Video for Anaconda.

Meanwhile Taylor's work has also been nominated for five awards in the professional categories, including Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography.
