The world’s longest inflatable water slide was officially certified by Guinness World Records on Friday in Vernon, New Jersey.
At 1,975 feet long—that’s over one-third of a mile—the extreme waterpark ride was brought over from New Zealand and reassembled on Mountain Creek’s ski slopes in Vernon, New Jersey, reports USA Today.
With twenty 100-foot sections weighing in at 600 pounds each, its made of 10,000 feet of polyvinyl chloride, which is the same material used to make bounce houses. It takes over two hours to inflate the slide and about 1,000 gallons per hour to operate—the water is provided by Mountain Creek Resort's Snowmaking System.
Though there are no weight restrictions on the slide, it has not yet been approved by state Department of Community Affairs so the ride is not yet open to the public-- and may never be. Action Park spokeswoman Lauren Scrudato told USA Today there is currently no timeline for when the waterslide will be state-certified due to the "lengthy process."
But for adventure seekers, Action Park does have more than 30 park attractions including rides including the Cliff Jumps, Tarzan Swings and Colorado Rapids River Ride.r
A few special employees were granted permission to test out the World’s longest waterslide and filmed slippery trip, which can last up to 90 seconds.
