Three men stripped completely naked and washed their clothes in a water fountain in a busy city centre, police have revealed.

The naked trio used the water feature in Cathedral Gardens, Manchester to clean their clothes early on sunday morning.

An alarmed onlooker alerted police and officerd "advised" the men about their actions before sending them on their way.

Grater Manchester Police revealed details of the "odd" 999 call on Twitter.
